A Gentleman’s Honor by Stephanie Laurens
This one isn’t as dry and boring as the author’s last few books. Still quite dry and boring, though.

Much about this reeks of potential, but the execution is kind of just there.

When it’s good, it’s very good. When it’s not, run.

Oh good, all that whipping and self-flagellation. Are we sure they are not in a cult?

No gold here. Maybe a copper.

There is some action, a great hero, but also a weak heroine and abundance of predictable twists and turns.

Oh, look who’s back! There’s some life left after New York, after all!

Ghosts, seances… and yet, many things here feel familiar.

Amnesia isn’t stopping the hero and the heroine from behaving like randy teens in this “medieval” romance.

This one has charm by the spades, but it’s also a bit too silly for its own good.
