Gary, our 14-year-old brat of the week, is thrilled when his parents give him his own landline phone. Yes, this is 1999, back before cell phones, when life was so much simpler then.

Needless to say, he and his friend Steve can’t resist making all kinds of prank calls.

Naturally, this won’t do, so our enforcer of good behavior, the Crypt Keeper himself, takes it upon himself to teach those two a lesson. The best way to do this, of course, is to terrorize Gary into screaming his head out because remember kiddies, if you don’t everything grownups tell you to, you will be severely punished until you obey or die

As usual, the script and story of It’s for You are beyond stupid, as the episode is a didactic PSA first and who knows what the second is supposed to be.

However, the episode is also well paced, without painfully long-drawn filler scenes. Yes, the voice acting is pretty dire, but the third season is likely commissioned by the Ministry of Corrective Behavior, so the budget is probably $50 per episode — $30 goes to John Kassir — and these people have to make do. The fact that the episode isn’t that meandering or boring is something to celebrate, therefore.

So, in the end, kiddies, don’t make prank calls or you will regret it deeply. Shut up, don’t do anything unless a grownup gives you permission, and even then, just do whatever they tell you to and don’t you dare have any thought or instinct of your own.

There, I’ve given away the moral of the day, so there’s no need to watch this episode anymore.
