Forever’s Not Enough is a naughty futuristic romp that kicks off Roscoe James’s Galactic League of Planets series. Let’s see, we have one Princess Peenzan Fanston, the “Madame Ambassador” from the planet Meline, coming over to Earth to meet the big boss of the United Corporation of Earth and plead for assistance to help her home planet stave off attacks from nasty aliens. She still has time to dally with Sergeant Hillsborough, the man assigned as her bodyguard, in the process. Alien attack fun ensues in the later half to give this story a semblance of a plot.

The romance is… well, not exactly a good one if you ask me because this is one of those “fated mating” things. The fact that the cat-like hot stuff this time around is the female – and one that is pretty aggressive to boot, sexually – is a nice change from the usual “mate mate mate” stories out there, but on the whole, there is really nothing much here that resembles a relationship development. There is plenty of lust, but that’s a given, since this is an erotic futuristic romance after all.

But my biggest annoyance of this story is how the non-sexual aspects of the plot see the heroine behaving like a spoiled diva who is often wrong as well. A smart spoiled diva is fine with me, but Peenzan is a spoiled dim-witted diva, which is not fine at all.

There is nothing much of a strong plot or romance in Forever’s Not Enough to make me even a little happy. This is one of those books that you read for the titillation and cheap thrills more than anything else.
