Shotgun Bride by Linda Lael Miller
The book alternates between absurd and unexpectedly decent.

There are some good things here, but for the most part, meh.
Too many subplots, not enough focus on the romance.
Still not on a good day!
The lady deserves a better treatment and better story.
Oh dear, rather than being god-like, this one is more dud-like.
This one is alright, but once again, the main characters’ impractical desire to be virtuous and self immolate themselves gets on my nerves.
Christmas cheer of the so-so kind.
The author gets some of her mojo back, but adds in an asshole hero. Sigh.
The skanky evil villain ho is far more interesting than the heroine, and that’s quite sad, actually.
