The Fetish Box Part 2: What Escapes continues the adventures of Mary Deupree, artist and new owner of the Fetish Box, and the two men that come with the store, Max Jobman and John Brinks. Needless to say, you may want to read the first part before tackling this one, as, hello, this is part two of a naughty serial drama, after all.
Anyway, when the story opens, Mary agrees to be schooled in bedroom fun by one of the two men, while angling for the amorous affections of the other man as well. Oh, she’s not playing them – she’s just greedy, and both men are aware that she wants them both, and so far they seem willing to be used by her that way. Of course, there has to be some kind of diversion, so a subplot crops up where someone, or maybe some people, try to break into the Fetish Box, possibly with intention of harming Mary. There is still one more part to go after this, so don’t expect closure by the last page of this one.
I hate to say this, but I can’t bring myself to care too much about the whole “people are out to get Mary” subplot because until this point, I don’t know anything about Mary, her mother, or the Fetish Box to care about that subplot. Come to think of it, I’m puzzled as to why the author introduced a store selling sex toys in this story but hasn’t even by this point fully used that plot element. I mean, Mary could have easily owned a bed and breakfast and it won’t make much difference to the story so far. Perhaps in the next part?
The sex is quite hot, though. The naughty moments may not be pretty or sweet, but they are raunchy and dirty in all the right way. In fact, these naughty moments are the best reason to keep turning the page in this story. The other aspects of the story are just sort of being there, and hopefully things will come together better in the next part.
