The Corrs as a group tend to produce uneven music that range from direly boring to unexpectedly interesting. Andrea Corr strikes out on her own in Ten Feet High and the result is unfortunately still direly boring.
This CD shouldn’t be boring since the songs here show a variety of musical styles. It has electronic grooves like Hello Boys and the fabulous Shame on You (To Keep My Love From Me) (both the original and radio remix versions are present here but I love the original version better) which are actually pretty good. However, a few other tracks such as Stupidest Girl in the World are pretty catchy when I am listening to them, but once the songs are done, for the life of me I can’t remember a thing about them. The rest are dire ballads that seem to have come straight out of a sugar swill.
If I have to choose, I’d say Shame on You (To Keep My Love From Me) is the only track here that I will listen to more than once. The rest are most forgettable. It’s not that these songs are terrible, mind you. It’s just that they are so bland and uninteresting on the whole that I have a hard time working up any enthusiasm for this effort by Ms Corr.
