An archaeologist named Dr Wehunt, Dracula with a prominent dangling bit… Sucker of Souls is not meant to be taken seriously, if one couldn’t already tell from the Buffy-speak of the main characters.

Dr Wehunt, his intern Simon, and their hired guns Flynn, Micky, and Gary are exploring some underground ruins when they awaken Dracula. This Dracula is more of a beast than a charming bloke, and he is hungry. I’m not sure why the episode is called what it is when Dracula is still the good old-fashioned throat-ripper, but hey, I supposed it’s all for a catchier title.

Luckily, they have some cats with them, and Dracula for some reason is scared of cats. How long will this reprieve last, however?

This is a pretty conventional episode, with some really awesome gore to boot. The blend of violence and humor is also well done, with the humor never really getting too much in the face or undermining the terror faced by the humans in this one.

I would love this one… if the whole thing hadn’t ended the way it did, making this one more of a teaser for a longer show that never came.

Shame, really. Oh well, I suppose it is good while it lasts, until the whole thing turns out to be just an unnecessary tease from people that probably believe they are far smarter than they come off as.
