There is a new guy in charge of Super K, previously known as Value Mart, and he’s far younger than most of the senior employees.
Ba Rainey doesn’t care, to be honest. She has lost all interest in her life, and she instead stuffs her shoes with soil and Miracle-Glo, watering them because she thinks that this will somehow make some new powers to “grow” inside her and make her a superhero or something.
Since doing this causes her to leave a muddy trail all over the floor, she is reported to the new manager. Uh oh, what will happen now?
M Pax’s Plantgirl is a short story, and it’s a better kind of short story because the author basically has said here, well, whatever and writes an absurd story that makes little sense and yet… it does make sense in a zany kind of way.
Mind you, I can relate to Ba in many ways, although I’d never want to do whatever she does with her shoes because this is real life and cleaning up is always an ugh kind of chore.
So yes, this is longer than a flash fiction, just a little longer, and I’m not sure how other people to take to this thing, as there are longer stories one can purchase for $0.99. Still, I like this one well enough to feel that I get my money’s worth out of this!
