Like most people in show business, Bob Goldthwait can’t wait to tell everyone what a terrible person Donald Trump is. I don’t know why he thinks he is so special, since I only have to switch on any random channel even in this part of the world to hear about that too. Having been inundated with Orange Man Bad stuff from 2016 all the way to today, I’m desensitized to the point that an Orange Man Bad scree needs to be really interesting or imaginative to catch my attention. Sadly, Face in the Car Lot is just a literal take on how Orange Man is really a monster.

A werewolf, to be more specific – one that has eaten a toddler. A vampire tells journalist Regina Bailey to look into this as smarmy car salesman Swell Wainwright decides to run for presidency. David Koechner takes the trouble to even talk like the Orange Man, and while grabbing a woman by the crotch may be a bit too much for this Goosebumps reject of an episode, being a baby-eating werewolf is A-OK. This episode makes the effort to make sure that I know that this episode is about you-know-what, and it also tars his supporters as racists, bigots, and what not who don’t care one bit that the man they are electing to be the president is a literal monster.

The whole thing is a clumsy, unimaginative effort that is at the same time – if the behind the scenes section is anything to go by – smug and way too impressed with itself. Its idea of great humor is to basically point a finger at the Orange Man and his supporters and holler basic insults at them. The whole thing screams low effort. People tell me all the time that the Orange Mad is bad, so if this one wanted to do the same and stand out from the others, it needs to do so much better than this.
