Okay, I have read this book twice just to confirm that, yes, the two lead characters in Julie Lynn Hayes’s Don’t Look Back are father and son as well as lovers. That’s your PSA or trigger warning right there: this story takes the whole “Daddy!” thing to literal heights.

Basically, Marshall grew up under a cray cray mom and, when he was reunited with his beloved daddy Lee, the two couldn’t wait to start boinking.

And that’s basically the story. They have sex a lot, and I do mean a lot. There is some whipping, some mild kinky stuff, but it’s non-stop description of shagging to the point that I wonder how these two can find the time to do anything else in a day.

The plot, if I can call it that, is these two trying to settle down in a place where they can play some more without being found out or judged, which isn’t really a high-stake issue as these two have no issues boinking non-stop as it is. I’m not sure what they are really looking for, as they seem to have all the liberties to get down whenever the urge hits them. Are they looking for a place where they can do it in public or something?

Now, I have no issues with the daddy-son thing, as this is clearly a work of erotica, and as long as there are no children, animals, or things that normally go into the toilet are involved, I am happy to go along. I have to admit, the naughty scenes are pretty nice at first, as they are guttural, primal, and straight out down and dirty without too many euphemisms or weird phraseology flying around.

However, my god, this story goes on and on, but all these characters do is boink. More power to these two as they are having the time of their lives but come on. Things become repetitive fast, and I soon find myself skimming the naughty scenes to find something, anything that isn’t another explosion of fleshy slaps and bodily fluids shooting all over the place.

In many ways, this is actually a pretty good work of erotic fiction had the author halved the length, maybe put the shortened version in an anthology of raunchy stories or something. That way, things won’t feel so much like an X-rated Groundhog Day by the time I reach the third chapter!
