Red Garnier writes naughty stories. Very naughty stories. However, I think I like the author’s style better when she’s going over the top rather than keeping things down to earth. Color My Heart is a very short story that is, alas, down to earth in nature and I find that this one isn’t as fun as the previous two stories by this author that I have read.
The story is simple: Hannah Myers needs some rebound hot loving after catching her now ex-boyfriend cheating on her and she finds lots of that with Billy Hendricks who lives a few doors down from her. That’s pretty much it for the story, which I should point out also includes a threesome scene with some fellow although at the end of the day it’s just the two of them for the long haul.
Billy is a fun fellow and Hannah is an enjoyable heroine. The story is hot. With this being as short as it is, that is good enough if you ask me. However, it’s just that I can’t help comparing it to stories featuring wild sisters and hot housewives gone wild and finding this one rather mundane and therefore lacking that special kind of magic as a result. Ms Garnier, I feel, is better when she’s going slightly over the top. This one could have featured… I don’t know, a mechanical bull or something, just to make it feel less ordinary, for the want of a better word.
