Trouble in Store isn’t bad for a Tales from the Cryptkeeper episode, but it’s such a one-note episode that it’s hard to become enthusiastic about it.
Simply put, Derek and Rob love to steal things, so the morality guardians of the spooks conspire to have them be locked in inside a supermarket after closing hours. As expected, they start experiencing one jump scare after another until they are practically shock-therapied into becoming model citizens.
The saddest thing about this episode is that, even more so compared to the episodes of the last two seasons, it is designed to do just one thing: lecture kids about model behavior. It’d be nice to have some kind of twist or clever plot development here, but no, we can’t have that. This episode is about nagging kids to behave and that’s pretty much it.
Oh well. One more episode down, so how many more do I have to sit through for the rest of this boring season?
Seven? Seven? Sigh.
