Triangle in Steel is said to be based on a story by Thomas H Raddall, and… hmm, I’m afraid I don’t recall that author ever having a story with the same name as the episode.

Oh well, given the track record of this show, I’m certain the source material is likely much better than this episode.

This one is typically a white guy behaving badly among the locals story. Mike Barnes, who is supposed to be American even though he’s played by a guy with the appearance and accent of a French Canadian, oversees the construction of a bridge at a Mohawk neighborhood. He spots Rachel, the wife of his boss, and makes a play at her.

Okay, the affair is also the official selling point of this episode, but that is actually a misdirection. The bulk of this episode is made up of construction crew members talking, drinking, riffing one another, and giving side eyes to Mike.

It is only about 20 minutes into this episode that there is any soft porn action going on, and even that is a perfunctory 1-2-3 thing shot in ghastly red light. It’s as if this episode was intended to be in some other show, only to have the worst of luck, become lost, and end up in this show instead.

That or this episode is designed to excite people that have a fetish for construction crew guys, I suppose.

The whole thing is a meandering, sluggish episode that takes forever to say very little, to the point that the stock footage shots of the bald eagle soon become annoying and even taunting—yes, it’s flying away, while I’m stuck here wondering when anything interesting will happen.

I suppose the whole thing here is telling me to don’t make woo-woo natives mad and don’t sleep with married people, but surely they could have found a more entertaining way to try to rectify my moral deficiencies.

Anyway, this one is a slog to sit through. It also feels curiously out of place in this show and not in a good way either!
