Oh look, Zach Gilligan’s in this episode. I’m sure the guy needs his paycheck like any other, and I’m sure this role beats playing the Boiler Room Patron Getting Stabbed with Pool Stick in Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth, but come on. Surely compromising all standards just because of some past poor career choices tanking one’s acting trajectory isn’t the way to go?

In Toxic Shock, he is Raskin, the owner of Eco Vista Tree Farm. Yet, he openly tosses cans of—something acidic that produces steam and bubbles on the ground?—whatever into this clearing and somehow no one catches on to him.

Well, his time is up when he is confronted by an angry and armed Bobby in the opening scene. They may be friends, but Bobby is clearly on Team Captain Planet and mad as can be.

In the ensuing altercation, Bobby is killed, yay, but alas, some of that whatever stuff is spilled onto Raskin’s face.

The guy soon begins to hallucinate, and this is bad because the episode then shifts into this brown hue for the rest of its scenes, perhaps to emphasize how bad polluting the environment is.

What happens is a now standard schlock of this show: the guy descends in madness while haunted by his sins, et cetera. It’s been done many times already on this show, and I suppose I should at least be glad that the one doesn’t have Raskin going up against thugs on the streets as well.

Predictable, tepid, and played out, this episode is just another one of those things in a season that has long outlived its purpose and value. Something tells me that Mr Gilligan won’t be urging people to watch this thing!
