For three seconds, I perk up upon seeing the title of this episode: This Wraps It Up. Then my enthusiasm deflates when I realize the title isn’t about this season finally coming to a close. No, it’s about a mummy. Wrappings and mummy, get it? Sigh.

Naomi is constantly being the butt of her classmates’ jokes during a trip to Egypt, because she’s tall and she’s the only girl there. I’d also say that she being as dumb as a sack of rotten turnips and easily frightened by anything also make it way too easy for them to constantly prank her, but I guess that will be victim shaming and unworthy of me. Still, it’s hard not to roll up my eyes when Naomi squeals that she sees a pyramid only to realize it’s a tent—girl, please.

Hmm, between this one and the last few episodes, this show is making me side with the bullies over the idiot main characters. This is what happens when a show treats its audience like they have a turnip instead of a brain.

The class stumbles upon Steel’s dig, which boasts an unearthed tomb, and the tall and stupid plank immediately detects a “connection” to it, even identifying the person buried in the tomb. Of course, when one has discovered a long lost tomb, it makes perfect sense for the archaeologist to allow a teacher and her bunch of students to happily gambol inside. That makes sense.

The idiot refuses to follow the rest of the class, opting to stay in the bus, but when they fail to return, she decides to go find them herself. All the while, she keeps hitting her head on everything, because she’s tall and don’t anyone dare to forget that,  and screaming every few minutes.

What follows is something akin to a rejected Scooby-Doo script, but made a million times worse by the lead plank doing her stupid screaming and stumbling act non-stop. This episode doesn’t know whether it wants me to root for the idiot or to mock her, so it tries to make her both a laughingstock and someone to root for. The end result is a predictable miss of epic proportions, as Naomi gets on my nerves to such an excruciating degree that I just want her dead, period.

Easily the worst episode to date, this one treats the main character in an even more mean-spirited manner than her classmates do, and it insults my intelligence even further. The worst and most cruel insult is boasting a title that leads me to believe, for one hopeful moment, that I don’t have to watch this season anymore.

Two more episodes, and then I can take a break. I can do it. I can do it.
