Poor Helene. She’s in a loony bin, apparently plagued by nightmares in which she…. is running around screaming as the lights come on and off around her? I suppose that can be scary to some people.

Apparently her case is so perplexing that our American import, Dr Adam Winters, announces with much fanfare that he’s taking over the case to personally make sure that Helene will recover.

Mr Hot-Ass Hitchhiker calls Dr Winters a “doctor of shadows” in his opening babble segment, so I guess, whatever that is, it leads to this episode being called Shadow Puppets.

While Dr Winters hopes that Helene’s recovery will help him establish his clinic, Helene can be quite the tricky patient. She’s had enough of shrinks after seven years of being in constant therapy, and she also has some strange scars riddling her body. Did she inflict those scars on herself, or, like she says, they were caused by something more… supernatural?

This episode seemed to be the result of someone realizing that they still have some days left to use some big building they have rented, so someone come up with a script STAT. Sure, the place looks lovely, but this episode is essentially a brain fart, with Helene somehow having inner demons that manifest as actual demonic-ish attacks.

This episode doesn’t make much sense. For example, why does Helene hurt herself, when she clearly says that her inner demon-thing targets other monsters? Is it because she hasn’t met a worthy target to direct her attacks to? What happens in that ending scene? Does she have to pay Dr Winters, as he is still her shrink, and if yes, can she just walk out like that?

This one has crap filler stamped all over it, and there is no titillating stuff to distract the audience from just how much of a filler it is.
