Oh, thank the gods because Hunted does not have high-pitched squealing and terrible attempts at comedy that grate on my nerves.

Sure, it’s another super formulaic episode that relies on tried-and-true Goosebumps tropes, because why not. The target eight-year-old demographic won’t care anyway.

This is another obligatory “be nice to animals” episode, as it tells the story of a hunter that, well, hunts animals in the Amazon rainforest to put up them for sale later. This puts him as crosshairs with the loinclothed natives that use spears and Unga Bunga language, but then a bestial legend takes notice of him and joins the fun too.

There are hardly any surprises here and honestly, the episode really drags at many places as they try to stretch this out into a single long episode. I can only watch so many “Oh, animals suddenly pounce at people—jump scare!” scenes before the whole repetition gets boring.

Still, the voice acting is decent for a change, without any whining or squealing to drill into my eardrums. It’s also nice to have an episode that isn’t about some dumb kid and some sociopath bully, as that one is way played out in this series.

So yes, this is not an objectively good episode, but after the last few abysmal episodes, I’d happily count this one as solid as far as this series is concerned!
