The Captain’s Bride by Sara Blayne
The author uses so many words to describe annoying banal things.

This is a horrible story, but for a story from this author. it’s a triumph.

Good things are here, but so are the not-good ones. I guess this makes it average?

The characters here are breathtaking in their insanity.

Great ideas, but very average execution. Sigh.

The hero mentions his dead wife’s name more often than the heroine’s.

This debut effort has its share of issues, but it is so charming and bouncy that it’s hard not to be entertained.

Once again, the dingbat heroine bogs down the story.

Wait, big misunderstanding stories are still in fashion?

$7.99 for a very average anthology? No, thanks.
