The Selkie Bride by Melanie Jackson
It’s a better sleeping pill than a book, sometimes.

It’s a better sleeping pill than a book, sometimes.

The author seems to be finally getting her act together. Does this bode well for the future? This book doesn’t fare as well.

This whole series is turning into a giant, dull navel-gazing session.

Help! I’m being dragged kicking and screaming right into the characters’ navels!

It’s been so long that I am taken aback when I find myself enjoying this author’s new book. Could it be? Is she back?

The heroine is supposed to be seductive and cunning. She turns out to be cringe-inducingly awkward instead.

This is a most interesting start of a new series, although the execution is not up to par.

As time passes, it looks like the great start to this series was probably just a fluke…

This one won’t be a letdown if the first book in the series wasn’t so, so good. Sigh.

It can be hard to follow a great book, but this one still can’t help but to disappoint.
