Agatha All Along is finally stirring the cauldron and dishing out the goods—but only now, when there’s about as much story left as a black cat has lives!

Follow Me My Friend / To Glory at the End really shines, but it makes you wonder how much of the early-season fluff could’ve been left in the “deleted scenes” bin alongside Agatha’s questionable wardrobe choices.

Alas, the great Patti LuPone has exited stage left, with Ali Ahn’s Witch-Whose-Name-Escapes-Me not far behind. It’s hard to mourn her, though—Ms Ahn’s character was basically the magical equivalent of Red-Shirt Extra #3. Here’s hoping she bought herself something nice with her paycheck, because the role certainly didn’t give her much to cash in on.

With Ms LuPone’s departure, Joe Locke picks up the pieces, firmly establishing himself as everyone’s favorite “teenage boy discovering he’s the chosen one” protagonist. Mr Locke’s character, along with Agatha and Forgettable Witch #4 or #5 (does it matter?), finally hit the end of the road, and surprise, surprise, things are even messier than expected.

This episode brazenly ties back even further to WandaVision, though in true modern MCU fashion, the links seem more “vibes-based” than grounded in anything resembling continuity. But who’s keeping track? Not the MCU, clearly. And honestly, who cares? The plot may be cliché, but it’s spun together tightly enough to keep us watching, all while being a visual treat that looks way better than some of the glossier Disney+ flops that end up looking like Hot Topic had a clearance sale on chaos.

If you were a teen again, you’d probably be trying to replicate the killer goth look that Mr Locke’s character rocks. I mean, it’s practically peak #StyleGoals, and the budget makeup looks… oddly great. Now, there’s only one episode left, and for the first time, we’re actually looking forward to the finale. Agatha Harkness, take us home!
