When a hunk offers you an invitation card after trailing you as you are shopping, what do you do? Akila Massri, our heroine, does what every sane woman would do – accept the invitation and head off to a paid vacation at reclusive billionaire Valarian Kaspan’s private island.

As you can probably tell from the title of this story, Valarian turns out to be a vampire. What a shocking development, eh? Valarian wants Akila because she’s hot and also because she’s descended from the Egyptian sun god Ra. Then there is Jacob Baum, the guy who stalked Akila. He’s under Valarian’s employ and, soon, the other loaf that will sandwich Akila in a yummy undead Subway delight. We need a plot, so there’s that… you know, some nasty villain, but the plot is just the, er, icing on the cake.

This one is best read as a steamy story, because that’s the biggest strength of this story. Characterization is adequate to prevent the story, especially the guys, from being merely Sex Parts #1, #2, and #3 in the human sandwich. Like the characterization, the plot is adequate as filler when the author needs to wrap the story up. While that doesn’t sound promising, this story is actually very entertaining in a red-hot guilty pleasure way as Ms Dee puts together everything very nicely.

In the end, Vampires’ Consort may be yet another paranormal ménage à trois naughty romp available in the market, but it has enough substance – I almost said “meat”, heh – to deliver ample plot and characterization to make it more entertaining and nowhere as forgettable as most stories of this nature.
