Main cast: Chris Parnell (Sanchez), John Oliver (Thumb Bringer), Fred Tatasciore (Todd), and Rachel Kimsey (Margie)
Director: John Oliver
Adaptations of John Scalzi’s stories on Love, Death & Robots so far have been extreme hits or misses, but fortunately, The Other Large Thing is one of the better ones.
Well, it’s also memorable because it manages to tell a story instead of just bits of one without being any longer than the previous episodes. Yes, the bar has been set that low.
Basically, Sanchez is a cat planning on world domination, but alas, a cat is a cat and it’s hard to do things without having opposable thumbs.
Fortunately, his disgusting owners Todd and Margie buy a robot helper one day, and the cat finds it very easy to manipulate the robot to kickstart his intended revolution. Muahahaha!
Short, simple, and pretty fun, this episode sees Chris Parnell putting on his manic evil act while John Oliver, who has never been funny and only has been lied enough by other people into thinking that is, fortunately doesn’t have to try too hard to be funny here.
All in all, this episode serves up zany kind of ham and leaves without outstaying its welcome. Best episode of the season so far!
