Sinful Touch revolves around the Ghost Project, a barely-explained program by the FBI to use psychics as top of the line secret weapons. I can’t imagine it either, and I have watched every episode of Charmed, including the nauseating Cole and Phoebe seasons, which should tell you something.

Speaking of Phoebe Halliwell, our heroine Audra Grayson shares that character’s ability, although hers are far superior in the sense that Audra just needs to touch Captain Roark Mackenzie Craig to detect his innermost secrets. At any rate, Audra could have used her abilities to play the Wall Street game and make Bill Gates look like a pauper, I suppose, so it doesn’t bode well for her intelligence when she snoops around the building after dark to get into a compromising position with Roark. Roark isn’t the biggest supporter of the Ghost Project but he’s not immune to Audra’s charms. That or he’s not stupid enough to turn down a woman who offers herself to him.

At any rate, this short story is written around the sex scene of those two. This isn’t so bad at first. I find the spicy scenes pretty well-written. I also like the fact that Audra isn’t some airy-fairy twit but someone who isn’t afraid to own up to her attraction to Roark. But then the author drops a bad guy into the story in the last few chapters out of the blue that has me scratching my head and wondering whether there is any previous book that I should read to make sense of what is happening here.

If you ask me, the author should have kept the bad guy in the plot closet and just let the two main characters shag away until the cows come home and call it a day. This is a short story, so a silly and rushed plot can only cause more damage than good.
