Kris Eton’s Shake Your Moneymaker opens with our hero crouching naked behind some bushes in the middle of the desert. Oh, don’t worry, he’s not a flasher. It’s worse – he’s another shapeshifter, sigh. A were-coyote, to be exact. Sam Daughtry changes into jeans and T-shirt, dons a clown mask, and proceeds to rob a bank. Our heroine Candace Kane (her real name and no, she is not a stripper) happens to be at the bank to deposit her waitressing tips. She has been saving up for three years to get out of this place, but used as a hostage by a bank robber in his getaway isn’t exactly the way of leaving town that she has in mind.

Sigh. You know, I was hoping for a story of naughty criminals who run off to Mexico to enjoy their ill-gotten dough. Shake Your Moneymaker sees Sam wanting to rob the bank as a way to avenge his dead mate (don’t ask), but one sniff at Candace and he’s all, ooh, shag, shag, shag. And of course, later he’ll go mate, mate, mate. If I’m the dead coyote mate, I’d be quite annoyed by how fast he seems to get over his grief, and all because that hussy didn’t wash her underpants that thoroughly.

This one starts out interesting, filling me with hopes that this one would turn out to be more than the usual mate-mate-mate story, but guess what, it turns out to be just that kind of thing. Fun, I guess, if you like another round of such stories. I think this story is okay, but nothing to get too excited over.
