Robot World is the third gamebook in the Be an Interplanetary Spy series. This one is targeted at young kids, so you will be solving puzzles instead of rolling dice to skewer orcs.

As the title of the series would suggest, you are an Interplanetary Spy, working for the Interplanetary Spy Center to take down villains that threaten the peace of the galaxy. In this one, the humans in the planet called Robot World currently face a rebellion initiated by the robots that they use for labor. These robots are apparently holding the colonists’ leader Dr Cyberg in his lab. Most of the colonists of Robot World have since fled successful from these robots, but you will have to discover the fate of Dr Cyberg and rescue him should he still be alive.

This is definitely something written for the kids who may not grasp immediately the huge logic black holes in this campaign. Seriously, the whole thing is so ridiculous to the point of being stupid. We have abrupt bad endings where you explode for no reason, a prisoner who when saved starts using his cybernetic eye to solve everything, and a massive boo-boo where robots peek into Dr Cyberg’s brain for all his secrets but yet couldn’t learn of the location of his secret lab. The puzzles are very simple, not at all challenging, and don’t offer much in terms of diversion from the awfully dumb plot.

This one is definitely strictly for very young kids.
