Lickin' On Both Sides
by Mis-Teeq, pop/R&B (2001)
Inferno/Telstar, ASIN B00005QTDJ

Oh, Mis-Teeq, TLC is so 1996. Yeah, yeah, their publicity flier says that Mis-Teeq does a combination of R&B/garage sounds, but at the end of the day, it's still one woman singing, one woman rapping, and er, the other one serve tea. Or something.

I really like One Night Stand and some smooth tunes here, such as Nasty, but the songs on the whole are well-produced unimaginative excuses to be generic. Someone sings, the sole "tougher" member does the rapping in the bridge, and I listen to their "uh, uh, uh"s and get TLC 1990s flashback. TLC was kinda cool when they started out, dangling condoms all over their faces, but then they get boring fast.

Mis-Teeq, on the hand, is boring from the get go.
