Leslie Turner has recently suffered from a broken heart thanks to a creep of a fiancé who ran off right before they walked down an aisle, so when she finds herself dragged by her sister to the Lake Helen Campground for R&R, sleeping with Gray Webster, who will be walking down the aisle in two weeks, is the perfect remedy to her blues.

To be fair, these characters try to control themselves for a few dozen pages, but since… I don’t know, they probably are too bored with nothing else to do, maybe, but once they start playing tonsil-tennis, their brains shut down and their hormones take over.

Still, it won’t be so bad if the author hasn’t pulled a cheap cop-out and tell me that these two characters aren’t being that unfair to Gray’s fiancée because she is not being honest with Gray either. As if two wrongs will make a right, really. I’m not saying that the characters are immoral and should be tarred, mind you, I’m just complaining about the plot device used by the author to make her characters’ behavior more palatable. Don’t we have a less overused plot device that we can use in this instance?

The main characters are fine, if a little on the superficial side. I can do without Leslie’s sister, who is this clichéd creature obsessed with Leslie’s sex life. But the author’s treatment of her story leads to a too-obvious cop-out that I am not too fond of.
