A Little Harmless Obsession is a good example of a comfort read. The plot will be very familiar to veterans of erotic BDSM romances, and there are no surprises here to catch unwary readers. But it’s a pretty enjoyable read nonetheless.

May Aiona is infatuated with Evan Chambers and she is also keen on exploring her submissive side. Therefore, she goes to everyone’s favorite local BDSM club, the one that even the neighborhood grandmother knows about. Guess who also goes to that club. He finally notices that she wants to play, she has some issues about being open about her submissive side, and there is some mild and rather throwaway suspense subplot somewhere in there to cap things out.

As I’ve said, this one reads pretty similarly to various erotic romance suspense romps out there in the market. There are no surprises to be had here. However, both main characters are likable and they generate some pretty convincing sexual tension and chemistry between them. Both characters have ample quiet moments outside the bedroom to convince me that their relationship isn’t just built on lust, and Evan is a pretty credible protective guy when May is in danger.

A Little Harmless Obsession is exactly what is written on the box – it’s an erotic BDSM “meet me in that club” romance with some suspense. It’s not the most memorable story I’ve come across because of the overwhelming predictability of this story, but it serves pretty nicely as a pleasant diversion on a lazy afternoon. As long as you know what you are expecting, this one should be a pleasant read, I’d think.
