Robyn Maxwell is going to Yukon. Her brother had to cancel the trip because he had an important assignment to carry out, and he is concerned that Robyn, who is deaf, will be toughing it out all alone in Yukon. Robyn is like, don’t be silly, she’s a tough broad, she’ll survive.

Well, she’s in for a fun time in Yukon alright when she bumps into two hot brothers in the neighborhood who are convinced that she’s a “wolf”. Worse, one of them, Kiel, is convinced that she’s his mate. Poor Robyn, little does she know she’s about to be introduced to Werewolf Pack Politics 101 by Kiel.

Wolf Signs is a readable short story. I don’t find anything particularly objectionable here. On the other hand, I don’t find anything particularly memorable either. This story is cleanly written and easily digested in one sitting, but the romance is seriously lacking as it relies heavily on the “love at first scent” shortcut that is pretty much compulsory in every mate-mate-mate romance. There doesn’t seem to be any convincing emotional bond taking place between Kiel and Robyn here. I’m told they are mates and that’s all to it.

If you like your werewolf tropes a lot, I suppose you can do worse than this one. If you expect anything more, though, I don’t think you will find what you are looking for here. File this one as best read by fans of scratch-and-sniff romances.
